Thomas M. Sutherland collection
Tom Sutherland, an Iowa State University graduate, was a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. He was serving as Dean of Agriculture at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, when he was kidnapped on June 9, 1985, and held in captivity for over six years. The collection contains newspaper articles covering his kidnapping, captivity, and release in 1991, and activities after his release.

W. Lee Honeyman received his B.S. (1943) in animal science from Iowa State College (University). This collection contains many of the notebooks Honeyman used to record his class notes. Included in the collection are notebooks containing course notes for classes in agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, agronomy, animal husbandry, bacteriology, dairy industry, economics, government, history, mathematics, music appreciation, speech, veterinary anatomy, and zoology.

The collection also includes notes and pamphlets from workshops and organizations, and a copy of In Retrospect, Wallace Ogg's 1989 self-published autobiography.

Wilbur N. Hunt Botanical Specimen Book
This collection (1875) contains one volume of botanical specimens collected by Wilbur N. Hunt. Hunt collected the fifty-two plant samples on or near the Iowa Agricultural College (Iowa State University) campus from April through June 1875, mostly likely as a requirement for his sophomore year botany class. Each sample is carefully labeled with the plant's order, genus, species, habitat, and date collected. Six unidentified specimens can be found in the book following the labeled samples.
William A. Smith scrapbook
William A. Smith graduated from Iowa State College (University) with a B.S. (1912) in forestry. Following graduation, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service. This scrapbook contains photographs depicting Smith's college years and his work with the U.S. Forest Service.
William Carman Black papers
William Carman Black received his B.S. (1932) in chemical engineering from Iowa State College (University). This collection contains course work and class notes for chemistry and chemical engineering courses taken by Black while attending Iowa State. A few other items, such a copy of Black’s undergraduate thesis, Tau Bet Pi engineering honor society pledge book, and college report cards and registration cards are also included.
