This collection (1892-1973, undated) contains biographical material, correspondence, and numerous reports on geology projects. Also included are conference material and geological photographs. In a map case are large maps and drawings of topography and geological surveys, along with road maps.

Iowa Highway Map collection
The collection (1925-1991) contains Iowa highway and county highway maps. The county maps are marked "prepared by the Iowa State Highway Commission in cooperation with the Federal Works Agency Public Roads Administration." The county maps represent all 99 counties. The collection includes oversized versions of the county maps from 1991. Also included are state highway maps.
Iowa Local History collection
The collection (1857-2000, undated) contains resources on local Iowa history such as articles, books, brochures, oral histories, directories, memoirs, maps, and news clippings. The collection includes histories of churches, families, towns, and counties. In addition, there are also cookbooks and information regarding Iowa farming, industries, and railroads.
Iowa Map collection
Iowa Map Collection contains maps of Iowa dating from 1856-1904, some of which originally appeared in vintage atlases such as Gray's Atlas and Atlas of the State of Iowa. One map shows the Congressional, Senatorial, Representative, and Judicial Districts of Iowa.
John D. Beardsley papers
The collection (1941-1969) contains minutes, legal documents, maps, photographs, and correspondence. Much of the material deals with legal questions that arose from drainage problems in Monona, Harrison, and Woodbury Counties; Beardsley represented the Little Sioux Intercounty Drainage District.

This sub-group (1938-1944, undated) includes county maps accompanied by count units giving their size measures. These maps and statistical data sheets make up the content of each envelope (unless otherwise noted). Of the three original sets, this is probably the only one still in existence.
