Abstract Erwin E. Klaas is a retired professor of animal ecology and wildlife research biologist. He was a member of the faculty at Iowa State University for 25 years and also served as a leader for the Iowa Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. In addition, Klaas was a wildlife research biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Geological Survey for 30 years.
