Abstract Henry Gilman (1893-1986) was an organic chemist renowned for his groundbreaking work in organometallic chemistry. He joined the faculty of Iowa State College (University) in 1919, attained the rank of Professor in 1923, and was named Distinguished Professor in 1962.
