Biography/Profile
Abraham H. Epstein received his B.S. (1952) from Cornell University, M.S. (1954) from the University of Rhode Island, and Ph. D. (1969) from Iowa State University. He came to Iowa State University in 1965 as an extension plant pathologist after having served four years with the San Diego County Department of Agriculture and seven years with the Wisconsin State Department of Agriculture. Epstein became the Chairman of the Department of Plant Pathology, Seed and Weed Sciences July, 1974 for a five-year period after serving as acting head since the department was formed in 1979. He was also a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor Agricultural Honor Society. He retired in 1999 from Iowa State University.
