Biography/Profile

The Agricultural Publications files were collected by Jay Wangsgard, director of advertising services for "Progressive Farmer". Wangsgard compiled competitive publications of the "Progressive Farmer" (for example, "The Farmer" and "Southern Agriculturalist"). Many of the magazines in this collection suspended publication as Wangsward collected them. "Progressive Farmer" and sister publications in the Southern Progress Corporation (formerly known as Progressive Farmer Company) were acquired by Time Incorporated in 1985 and became subsidized by Time-Warner Incorporated.
