Scope and Content
The collection (1925-1984) contains the 4-H project books, newspaper clippings, personal notes, Short Course programs, letter, and 4-H hat that belonged to Mary Ann McKeehan while she was a 4-H member attending the Iowa State Short Course Program. The collection also contains clothing and a personal record from 1925-1926. In 1984, Mary sent a letter to the extension, along with the memorabilia, explaining what her experiences were attending the event and being in 4-H. The collection also contains three 4-H pins from 1925-1926.

Mary Ann McKeehan was a 4-H member for a short time in Appanoose County. She attended the Iowa State Short Course Program in 1925 and 1926 where she was involved in lessons for girls. The program was held annually over 4-6 days. And girls studied home economics, cooking, literature, recreation, and first aid. Today this program is called State 4-H Conference.
