George T. Wills engineering drawing book
Scope and Content
This collection (1878 circa) contains the drawing book of Iowa State student George T. Wills. Students enrolled in the engineering curriculum at the time were required to devote a substantial amount of time to drawing, including courses in free-hand drawing; shades, shadows, and perspective; exercises in mechanical drawings; and machine drawing. The majority of the drawings in this book, approximately 40 in all, appear to be from a course Wills would have taken his junior year on shades, shadows, and perspective.
