Arthur Akers (1927-2010) was a Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Iowa State University. While at Iowa State University, Akers' research interests included orifice discharge coefficients, stresses in bourdon tubes, simulation of fluid power systems, and optimal control procedures. This collection contains biographical information and copies of Akers' published works related to fluid mechanics and hydraulics.
The collection contains class materials Charles Wright used in teaching computer engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science courses. The papers also include research files and notes relating to Wright’s work in computer architecture. In addition, the documents contain biographical information.
This collection (1993-1995) contains a vita, correspondence, guidelines for publication, reviewers' comments, publication drafts, galley proofs, and a final copy. These papers document the efforts of a woman scientist to publish an article titled, Gas Supersaturation and Gas Bubble Trauma in Fish Downstream from a Midwestern Reservoir (American Fisheries Society 124: 423-436).
