This collection (1968-2012, undated) contains Dr. Beran’s biographical materials, certificates, presentations, papers and faculty activities correspondence relating to physical education on the international level, and the history of physical education. A highlight of this collection is her writings on the history of women’s basketball, and a presentation, “One Hundred Years of Physical Culture, Physical Training, Physical Education, Health and Human Performance at Iowa State University.”
This collection (1989-2009) contains documents and records related to the activities of the National K-12 Foreign Language Resource Center that include evaluation reports, final project performance reports, grant performance reports and program evaluations. It also includes newsletters, bulletins, brochures and booklets for teacher preparation. Books, thematic units and CDs are also included in this collection.
Thomas A. Hippaka, born March 11, 1895, was a Professor of Industrial Education at Iowa State University. He specialized in industrial arts, guidance counseling, educational measurements, psychology and supervision. The collection includes biographical information, correspondence, a visitor guestbook, the publication Industrial Education in Finland, published works regarding education, and unpublished articles, notes and speeches.
The collection (1891-2010, undated) contains biographical information and material associated with Tilden’s career at Iowa State College (University). The biographical information includes newspaper clippings, family photos, and writings about her life and accomplishments. The collection also contains correspondence, photographs and documentation from her time in France, WOI radio scripts, and writings by Tilden.
