Abstract Vernon Francis Stone (1920-2015), architect, was a professor of architecture at Iowa State University from 1959 until his retirement in 1985. Prior to his career at Iowa State, Stone was a practicing architect (1945-1959) at several firms, mostly located in the Wichita, Kansas, area. He started his own architectural firm when he moved to Ames, Iowa, in 1959.
